I have not worked out since Friday-but this past weekend I did a bunch of outside yard work. Ripped out a ton of way over grown "looks like the house is in foreclosure" weeds and plants and also got the grass cut! Getting things ready to get into the "winter" mode! That was a lot of work and definitely can be considered physical exercise! I will hike later today after picking up all my son's homework from school for him to work on! Then tomorrow, hopefully some kettlebell action.
This morning I saw a beautiful sight!
YUP! They have arrived! The snow birds are here!!!!!! So funny, because this morning on the news during the forecast, they said that a chance of rain/snow mix for this coming weekend! Once the birds come, it's only a short time before those first snow-flakes start to come down!
Today I started a new job. A second job! One that does not pay in a monetary form. One that will be very rewarding. One that I've been called to do. It's being a "Christian Companion". This job consists of visiting with people who are home bound and can't get to church. I also administer communion to them and then just visit! This couple I've been matched with are just great. They are both in their 90's living independently just down the road from me. My Pastor and I went together today for "my" first time to meet them. From now on , I go, by myself, at least once a month for communion and a visit. "Hank" is a WWII veteran! I can't wait to hear his stories. I'm a sucker for anyone who has sacrificed for my rights!
It's truly an honor to be able to administer communion to them. When I went to our church for the first time, now a year ago, I stood in the communion line nervous and exited. It had been at least 20 years since I last had Christ's body and blood. Once I received, I knew things were going to be okay. Now, to be able to pay forward the same feeling is fantastic. They both are very sweet and very appreciative that we do this kind of visit so they can receive communion. I am truly honored!
Until next time........Blessings!
