I love this sign. It's very true! I enjoyed the mental effects marathon training had on me. I found a deeper relationship with Jesus during this time. I began to look at myself in a different way. I began to look at others in a different way. I'm completely 100% blessed to have accomplished all the distances listed in the picture. I plan to get back to that 3.1 and may just sit there for a while!
After cancelling my 1/2 marathon yesterday, I gave myself 1 hour to sulk about it. 1 hour! That was all the attention it was going to get. After that 1 hour I felt fine. In fact, I felt great. Jeff came home early from work and we went over to the bike shop....that's always a costly mistake! Anyways, I put some money down on this sweet guy that I've already named. Meet Ziggy!
It's a Trek 7.3FX. It's a sweeeeet ride and I can't wait to pay this sucker off and bring him home and introduce him to the rest of the family! He's a breed in between my hybrid and my road bike. In other words, I can ride him for everything!!! He's super light, just a tad heavier though than my road bike. He's probably 10-12lbs versus the 8lbs of my roadie! My first bike, the Trek 3700 (Aka: Fred) is heavy. He's a good 20+lbs.
I'm planning on sticking with my bells and bikes to get my "figure" back. It was the bells that brought me to this.....
When my phone took a shit and I had it replaced, all of a sudden once I downloaded some apps, out of the cyber clouds came EVERY picture I ever put on my blog. I've been blogging since 2008 and I now have just under 2,000 pictures on my phone that I can't seem to get rid of! I need a "geek" to help with this technology crap! Anywho.....it's been fun to see all the old pictures like the one above. That's old, I'm not donning that many tattoos in this one! I love working out with KB's no matter what season it is! Check out those grey workout pants! LOL....I do still wear that sports bra though-it's a good running one, keeps the girls in check and not bouncy-bouncy!
Today's training was snatches....it was inspired by my good friend Tracy who looks fantastic in this picture which was taken at her 2nd Kettlebell sport competition on August 17th.
I love the picture. This is what kettlebell training does for a person. I can see it. If you've never picked up a bell, you have no idea what I'm talking about and it's not worth trying to explain. I'm nothing more than 100% thrilled for my friend and for where she's at in her life. Often people that criticize your life are usually the same people that don't know the price you paid to get where you are today. That is what this picture says to me!
Today's training came in the form of snatches!
Warm up #1.....1 swing + 1 snatch + 1 negative press + 1 squat x 3 per side. Warm up #2.....1 swing + 1 snatch = 1 rep. 5L/5R x 5 rounds
10L/10R x 15 rounds=300 snatches
Total, with warm up, 350 snatches
Aside from the feeling of having a Trek between my legs, there's no better feeling than the feeling of a kettlebell in the hand!
Until next time..........Blessings!
