Snatch Wednesday!

Things are falling into place.  The training is going well.  The eating is going well.  My spirit is strong.  My faith is strong.  My mind is at peace.  My heart is resting.  My motivation and drive even freaks me out at times!

And good news for "Weigh-in Wednesday".......can you guess how many lbs I lost this week?  Here's a hint:

That brings my totally, so far, to 8lbs. over the last 2 weeks.  Nice!  For me, fixing the "things" in my life are making me strong and getting me back into action.  I wasn't going to journal my workouts or keep track of the "miles" or "reps" or whatever so analy anymore, but that didn't last long!  I'm writing down my workouts just to see the progression.  I don't have 3 other "web" sites that keep track of the reps, miles or laps anymore!  No need.
I have, however, been super duper anal about my food journal.  Keeping track of every stinking crumb that goes into my mouth.  I love the app I have on my phone called "Lose it"....how appropriate of a name is that?!!  I especially love the barcode scanning part.  No more putting all the nutrients in by typing, all I have to do is scan.  Now, I know you're thinking; "but wait-you don't eat anything processed or in a box or at least that's what you've been telling us over all these years".  That's true.  But even my bag of grapes has a barcode.  Each grapefruit also has a sticker on it.  The rest is easy-once you do put in a food, it's always there and since I eat A LOT of  the same meals over and over it's a breeze.  I'm not a "hmmm, wonder what should I make to eat today" type.  I do NOT need a new meal everyday or so to keep things exciting.  Hello.....I've eaten eggs with spam and veggies everyday for the last 10+yrs!

Okay, time to move on to the workout.

Today's workout actually started on the trainer!
Bike x 1 hour for approx 20 miles or so.

Then...........with the beloved 12kg:
Snatches:
5L/5R x 5 rounds = 50 reps
6L/6R x 6 rounds = 72 reps
7L/7R x 7 rounds = 98 reps
8L/8R x 8 rounds = 128 reps
9L/9R x 9 rounds = 162 reps
10L/10R x 10 rounds = 200 reps
Total of 710 snatches.

For the 5/5, 6/6, and 7/7 there was 15 seconds rest between rounds. For the 8/8 and 9/9 there was 30 seconds rest between rounds.  For the 10/10 there was 45 seconds rest between rounds.  Things went well.  Once into the 8/8 rounds, things were heating up!  9/9 was rough but the endorphins were surging!  The 10/10 was awesome!  Super tough, but so awesome!  Today was a great workout!  And I did the snatches with my KB buddy which always makes it more fun, not to mention the music cranked for support!

Now I have 6 sweet potatoes cooking in the oven-they are my new fav!  I can't believe I never ate these before.....So darn tasty and good and so darn good for you!

Until next time............Blessings!

  1. congrats on the weight loss. 8 lbs. in 2 weeks is excellent!
I love sweet potatoes cut up in wedges or like fries, put on a cookie sheet with some olive oil & sea salt. Bake till browned & they're so yummy!!! Or, you can put a little cinnamon & brown sugar or honey on them after they're baked. So many good ways to do them.

I have not tried them as fries yet, but I sure hear a lot about how good they are from everyone!

  3. I cut back on workout tracking (I also had 900 different things going on) but still log some basics bc I like seeing them. I also second the sweet potato fries! But I like baked wedges / slices just as much.
