This morning's agenda? Hell yeah..........RUN!
After about 15 minutes to get all the layers and stuff on....you got it, had to pee! Son of a bitch......
I wasn't looking quite this bad, I could at least put my arms down! I had 2 layers of pants, 4 layers of shirts, covering that goes around the neck, headband, 2 pairs of socks-1 wool and 1cotton, toe warmers, hand warmers, 2 pairs of gloves, mask for face and duct tape for the shoes! I was actually comfortable. The only issue was the wind. It's now like -35 to -40 degrees wind chill, this morning it was only -10 to -15 degrees wind chill. My eyes watered bad on the way back because I was right into the wind and they started to water and that started to freeze......
NOT ME!
That really hurt the eyes. Not the frozen lashes, but the dryness of that wind. That was pretty painful. Will have to figure something out for that because I can't really wear my glasses due to the fact they "fog" up during the run with the mask on to the point where I can't see anything! It was a 30 minute run and that's it. One can be out in these elements relatively safely for up to 30 minutes, after that, things can happen.
After the run, it was stripping off all the layers and heading down to the kettlebells....
I love to life heavy. Low reps + heavy weight=happiness all around! Not just the body, but the mind and the soul as well. Women must lift heavy and NOT these useless pink dumbbells...
These are absolutely useless to own. The only thing they are good for is to hang off your rear view mirror in the car! I'd have to paint 'em black before hanging.........I'm not a "pink" girl. I like black and I like heavy.......After the run, it was stripping off all the layers and heading down to the kettlebells....

ONE word.......HEAVEN!!!
I did mostly grunt work today......
Suitcase deadlifts with (2) 24kg's: 5 x 5
Goblet squats w/24kg: 3 x 3
Strict presses w/double 12kg's: 5 x 5
Strict presses w/double 16kgs: 3 x 5
Then I moved onto my new craze. The snatch hold. Just do a snatch and hold it overhead for a designated time. I started out doing 15 second holds, then moved onto 30 seconds.
Snatch hold x 15 sec w/16kg: 1L/1R x 3 rounds
Snatch hold x 30 sec w/16kg: 1L/1R x 6 rounds
Snatch hold x 1 minute w/14kg: 1L/1R x 1 round
Those are definitely powerful feeling and should help me get more comfortable snatching the 20kg. I can snatch the 20kg now for about 2-3 reps on each side, but would like to get that up to a comfortable 5 reps per side soon. I'm telling you, holding that bell overhead with my body in a complete tight chain link is great for the core, ass, legs, shoulders, back, etc......
Eating is still going great. I had my "cheat" day at work yesterday and I did actually eat a doughnut. Felt like shit the rest of the day. Came home and ended the day with a root beer float! Today is great. No cravings for shit. No hunger pains. No fogginess. Thanks be to God for being in my corner!
Tomorrow it's suppose to be even colder than today. Lows tonight will be -10 to -15 degrees. That's the temp, not the wind chill. I will not be running tomorrow.....I'm somewhat crazy yes, but NOT stupid!
Tomorrow will more than likely be a bike day. Wednesday is Snatch day!!!!
Until next time..........Blessings!

I'm glad you said it first, and I agree you are crazy! When it's ZERO degrees, my ass is inside. I don't care, I'm a fairweather person. I like it anywhere between 32-78 degrees. Anything outside of this is either too hot or too cold for me. Considering this, Wisconsin is a good place to live. I'll take a bit too cold than more heat any day!
ReplyDeleteUgh I'm the worst with cheat days. Instead of telling myself to get back on track I figure well I'm already eating bad lets have a cookie too.
ReplyDeleteYou are crazy - 0 degrees!!
And yes people who buy weights that light are dumb. Their purse weighs more than that!
