When is "enough" truly "enough"?

Yesterday I ran 22 miles.  Last night all I could think about was that if I run another 9.5 miles before the end of this month I will have run 100 miles for the month of August.
Well......today I am not going to be doing any running.  Tomorrow and Friday I work both days-a full 12 hour shift each.  Saturday is already September 1rst.

Why is it that we get so hooked on what we "need" to do yet before we stop and look back on what we've already "done".  To have run 90.5 miles in a month, for me, I find to be fricking incredible!  Just a mere 5 years ago, I was still waddling around over 300lbs with NO plan of ever doing something so atrocious as running!

Learning to be grateful requires the desire to see what's sometimes hard to locate.  It requires retraining your mind to think about the silver linings in life.

When we're grateful, our problems don't disappear, they simply occupy less space in our hearts, mind and lives.

We do not remember days, we remember moments.  Too often, we try to accomplish something big without realizing that the greatest part of life is made up of the little things.

Live authentically and cherish each precious moment of your journey.  Because when you finally arrive at your desired destination, I guarantee you, another journey will begin!

So, don't feel so intimidated by "where you have to go" yet, but be thankful for what you've accomplished and how far you've come on your journey.  Life is way to short to worry about getting another 9.5 miles before the month ends!

Until next time.........Blessings!

  1. LOL I know how that is. Look over the accomplishment and push on for some made-up milestone. 90.5 is a big accomplishment as is the 22!!! Wow!
