Yes, believe it or not, I am 50 years old! Yet I can't help but have fun with this word; "snatch"!
I have nothing but MARATHON TRAINING on my brain these days and after checking out Tracy's post and video in regards to snatching......I've really missed doing those! While, granted the swing IS the universe, snatching is by far, my favorite thing in the world to do. It's ranked up there right at #1, even before biking and swimming. Smack dab on the top!
Last week I worked Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday, after my kettlebell class, was my long run of 20 miles. Thursday was errands. Friday I worked and afterwards did a quick 3 miles on the trails to unwind from a really bad day at the hospital. All I can say is that I sure am blessed to be healthy enough to bitch about all the running I have to do! Saturday was another "running around doing errands" kind of day. I picked up a new pair of shoes! These will be the ones I do my very first ever marathon in! I buy the same kind every year. Nike Moto. Every year they are a different color and I had really hoped when he brought the box out that they would be orange, but this year it's blue. That's okay-I'm going to look for some orange shoe laces to replace the boring white ones. If I can't find any, I'll dye the ones I have....after all, things have to be "just" right for this race! After shoe shopping, it was over to Jeff's Mom's for a visit and lunch, then back home to get caught up on DVR'd shows. Last night we went to our friends to just sit back, relax and chit chat around a great campfire! S'mores were eaten!
This morning I woke early around 5:50ish. I had my alarm set for 6:30 but woke up early thanks to some hungry cats! Fed them, took all my supplements for the day, got dressed and headed out for a 5 mile run. Damn, this 50 year old broad is getting tired! LOL....actually, I'm feeling great! I'm way over last month's mileage and I still have a few more weeks of August left! This could, and probably will be, my biggest month ever for mileage on the feet!
Now it's off to a nearby village parade! I love parades! Only in WI does one get excited over a crap load of John Deere tractors, old cars, local school bands and old veterans throwing out Tootsie Rolls!
For sure later this afternoon, I'm gonna take my trusty ole 12kg outside and do some snatching just because.....if you've ever trained with kettlebells, you'd understand!
Until next time...........Blessings!
Update: snatches done! 10L/10R x 15 rounds for 300 total. Yup! It's been awhile since doing those......
Also....Blaze orange shoelaces have replaced the boring white ones that came with my new shoes! Game on!
i don't understand people who like boring white or gray running shoes. i love bright ones! and the shoelaces, seriously why don't they just come in color? :)
