17th Anniversary of the best job ever......

On August 2nd, 1995 I awoke at 0200 with the feeling of having to poop.  I know, you're all thinking what the hell kind of a post is this that she's talking about having to poop?  Well......that was the start of 27 hours of delivering my son!  After that poop....the (almost) same feeling came every 30 minutes or so.  I woke Jeff up and told him that he wasn't going to work this day.  Drove to the hospital with only being dilated 2cm but my blood pressure was high enough to have to get admitted and observed.  Contractions continued and the pain is intense and incredible.  Jared was stubborn, he didn't want to come out for anything.  I had an epidural which is incredible....even though there's that chance of becoming completely paralyzed from doing it wrong, I had to trust the medical field that I am normally a member of, but this day I was completely in their hands!  I was eventually, like 20 hours later moved into the surgery suite to get ready for a c-section because my stubborn son was not wanting to come through the crotch!  I really, really, really didnt' want to be sliced open, so as they got things ready, the urge to push really became incredible.  I kept at it and eventually with the help of some giant "tongs", Jared came out the old fashioned way-through the birth canal!  Hallelujah, from this moment on I had been blessed with the best job there is in the world!  Being a Mom!  It's the hardest, most-stressful, rewarding, never-a-dull moment, comedic job there is!  I wouldn't trade it for anything!


So, today, Jared turns 17!  Holy crap time sure does fly.  This "circle of life" thing is amazing!

Here's Jared at just over a year old....

Here in Wisconsin, we instill "Packer Pride" as early as possible!  He wasn't really diggin' the cheesehead, but he's definitely a Packer fan through and through!

Here's Jared "sharing" the chair with his fat Mom!  I totally remember this moment.  I was actually playing a hand-held Yahtzee game!  Jared was helping....poor kid, didn't have much room in that chair-he had to sit sideways on the arm!

Here's all 3 of us up in Door County....the same time, 2009.  I'm so glad I learned from my Dad who was the best at embarrassing us (all in good fun!) so that I can pass this on to my son!  Look how frickin' happy he is here!  LOL

Words can't even describe how proud I was to train Jared in the world of kettlebells.....he lost 40lbs doing nothing but swings.  Now, just to get him back into doing it again!

Jared is soooo much like me that it's scary.  Not only kettlebells, but he's definitely a kitty lover!  Here he is with one of our cats Scotty!  Look how happy that cat is...talked about spoiled!

Scotty just loves laying with or on Jared!  Here's his other favorite spot to sleep...right in his lap!

Here's Jared with his "I finally passed my road test" cake and now he's a legal driver......I'll never sleep the same again!

This is Jared this morning.....on his 17th birthday!  Still sporting the Packer pride!  I made a bunch of different signs and hung them all around the house this morning!  He's standing by one of them.  He's now 6'4" and who knows how tall he'll be......from 9lbs. 21inches to this!  Like I said.....BEST JOB EVER!

On a side note.............I've gone complete Rocky IV for the next few months.  I have deactivated my Facebook account and I'm getting my head into full blown marathon training.  I may be MIA for awhile, but it is what it is!  Time to get ready..........time to go out and completely block all things "non" marathon.  I will post on here from time to time, but the "brain sucking" from Facebook had to go......for now, I'll be back!
