I ran (so far away).....

I love this song..........the very, very early days of when MTV was great to watch.  I can remember watching it all day long-video after video after video.
I hope you've got your speakers on for this post!

What does Flock of Seagulls have to do with anything????  Well, yesterday was my long run day and it went off like this...........

0330-up getting ready for morning kettlebell class.
0500-at the park doing my warm-up
warm up:  200 snatches.  10L/10R x 10 sets
0530:  Kettlebell class
Taught the 1-arm and transfers to the class and we then proceeded to do the following:
10 2-handed swings x 5 sets (50 swings)
5L/5R x 5 sets  (50 swings)
10 transfers x 5 sets (50 swings)
then......
10 2-handed swings + 5L/5R + 10 transfers (30 swings) x 8 rounds = 480
Total 630 swings.  Great job by all.....

0705-took Jared to school
0715-ate breakfast
0830-start of my long run.  I had a 5 mile loop that I planned to run twice.  I wanted to only do 10ish miles because I just worked Monday and Tuesday and they were both grueling days where I put a lot of mileage on the feet.  I was to be honest, pretty tired and not really in the mood......I downed a 1/2 package of GU Chomps, grabbed the rest of the package and a bunch of Tootsie Rolls for my pocket.  4 bottles of water to keep hydrated-even though it was only in the mid 50's and cloudy with a north wind at around 10mph.  My kind of weather!!
The first 5 miles went pretty uneventful.  The feet are great now with the orthotics being nicely padded!  The next 5 were still okay and before I even got to the end of the them I knew I wasn't going to be stopping at 10 miles.  I knew I would be making another 5 mile loop-going for long run of 15 miles.  My longest run ever was 17 miles last February.  I'm getting close.  I'm so damn stubborn.....I really should have stopped at 12 or 13 miles and be happy with that...but 15 sounded better!  That last 1/2 mile I just walked....I was hurting everywhere from the waist down.  Once back to the car I knew that Pike Lake was just an easy 4 miles down the road-I flew over there, parked in the lot, booked down to the beach area, took off my shoes/socks and in I went-clothes and all............the water is freezing!  I was, within seconds, up past my waist in the sweet pain-relieving water!  I just walked back and forth for about 15 minutes.  I felt great after that.  In fact, pretty damn energized to be honest.............you know what that means!  Come home, jump into a super hot shower, eat some food, did some laundry and then after dinner I went BACK to Pike Lake and hiked with my friend.  I finally have these trails figured out. We did a challenging 4.2 mile hike on the trail which pretty much goes around the entire park.  It was a hilly bastard, yet I felt really good on it-kind of a nice recovery walk.  In fact, I'm going back tonight and do it again!

Today?  I spent 4 1/2 hours cleaning.  I loathe cleaning.  I did the hard shit today!  The "on my hands and knees" kind of cleaning.  I did the dreaded job of the "cat boxes"......that's always a treat!  All the litter dumped and the boxes scrubbed and re-filled.  Then the fish tank needed a fresh look!  I wasn't even sure if there were any fish in there.....there was!  Then to the floor.  I have a huge kitchen with lots of floor area.....nice and yet, ugh, it needs to be scrubbed.  My frickin' knees hurt worse than a whore from Singapore.  But it's now shining!  Moved onto scrubbing toilets and bathtubs and etc....ick!  Toilets are disgusting-I know people think what I do for a living is gross, but toilets are way worse than anything I do at work.  All rooms vacuumed and dusted and I'm done.

While finding the Flock of Seagulls video, a crap load of other cool '80's videos came up.....I love this song to.....

And this is another great tune......AND awesome funny video!  Love me some Go-Go's!

And who can not love for this next one.............The original rockin' lesbian!
The BAD-ASS Joan Jett.....

While the '70's are, and always will be, my all time favorite decade of music-the 80's certainly had some great shit too!

This is a classic!  Check out that blue eye shadow!  Betcha' you'll be singing to this one!

Okay............just one more, promise!  This is my favorite "disco" era song....

RIP......ROBIN GIBB!
