Most folks like these precious metals. Of course I think they're beautiful as well, but being the "tom-boy" that I am, I can easily live without them. Now on other hand I would have a very hard time living without "MY" precious metals....
These are the metals I like! My hands like these metals better than other kind. With the exception of a finisher medal, I wear very little of the "other" precious metals-Ha, Jeff can confirm that one! I'm definitely NOT a materialistic person.
Last week I did too many workouts. I had off Wed, Thur, and Fri. I planned to make Friday a complete rest day because I had a solid snatch session on Wednesday and a solid swing session on Thursday. As usual, that didn't happen. The day started out by going over to the MIL's house to clean out her clogged gutters. Then I ended going to my friends to pick up some stuff and BAM, next thing I know we're doing a quick KB session. I should have held off, but once I put my hand through the handle it's game time! We cranked out 400 swings and a bunch of snatches. I pretty much just ended up running errands all damn day.
Already tired, I had to work the weekend. We worked extremely short staffed both days. Here's my definition of today's healthcare: working extremely hard and long hours to kiss the patient's ass with little staff. Sunday was a day from hell. I was dizzy, lightheaded, lack of appetite, ate very little, drank even less-which led to being even more tired from now extremely dehydrated. Sunday night came and I couldn't wait to be home.
Monday morning came......
I awoke to a pounding headache. This is something that rarely happens to me. I never get headaches. I couldn't keep warm either. I made Jared some breakfast then took him to school. Came home and crawled back in bed still freezing. I ate nothing. I drank nothing. Somehow about an hour later I managed to get up to take a hot, hot shower. I dragged myself to the grocery store to pick up some "supplies" and then dropped Jeff's car off at our mechanic. I had to walk home, which is only about 3/4 mile, but being completely exhausted, this felt as if it was miles. As soon as I got home, I had planned to eat a big salad, but I just didn't want to eat. It was back in bed. Still cold, still a pounding headache, etc....
Came down late in the afternoon to make some supper. Ended up stir frying some chicken with veggies. Then instead of going to bed again which I easily could have, I ended up parking my exhausted ass on the couch in front of the TV for the rest of the night.
This morning??? Headache gone and I do believe that I am back to the land of the living!
It's a beautiful morning and it's supposed to be in the 60's today so that means only one thing........Kettlebells outside!!

2 2-handed swings + 8 1-arm swings R
1 2-handed swing + 9 1-arm swings L
1 2-handed swing + 9 1-arm swings R
10 2-handed swings
Total of 200 swings.
This was an equal work-equal rest session. Each set of "10" swings, be it all 10 or the mix of some 2-handed and 1-arm, took 15 seconds to do. I then rested for 15 seconds. The above circuit consisted of 5 minutes work and 5 minutes rest. Come on now.....who DOESN'T have 10 minutes to spare????
After that circuit, I repeated it again, however, instead of doing the 1-arm swings, I replaced it with snatches. The first circuit you can see that I did 10 2-handed swings to start and then again to end the session. With the snatches, I did do the swings to start with, but to end it, I did 10L/10R snatches giving me a total of 100 swings and 110 snatches.
So far......I have done 300 swings and 110 snatches. That was with the 12kg.
I then repeated everything this time with the 16kg.
Grand total of:
12kg: 300 swings, 110 snatches
16kg: 300 swings, 110 snatches
600 swings, 220 snatches.
After the swings/snatches, I took the bells for a "walk". I used double 12kg's for some farmers walks, rack walks and then some see-saw presses.
Done for the day...........time for lunch! Today I'm eating great and drinking tons of water! Later this afternoon it will be another walk-not KB's, this time a nice 3-4 mile one with my walking buddy either through town or over at the state park.
Tomorrow my RKC friend and I are taking a road trip to pick up a crap-load of kettlebells.........next week I start teaching KB classes!!

i had a killer headache saturday. i tried to wait it out but after 6+ hours i broke down and took some ibuprofen (2). about an hour and a half after that i threw up. and then about another hour later the headache finally went away. miserable.
ReplyDeletei am glad yours went away though i can't imagine sticking it for a whole day! now jeff needs to fashion a new wedding ring out of a kb. if only he could have done this years ago ;)
