Ladies and Gents I am proud to announce we have a winner! Jeff was re-elected for his 2nd term as our village trustee! It's weird to see your husband's name scroll along the bottom of the TV screen in the election results. Of course it was also the Presidential one as well, so a lot of news coverage. I won't go into my views on politics-we all know better than to discuss religion and politics! LOL
There were 3 positions available and 4 people were running, so this was not a "given" by any means. It was not a "uncontested" run. Jeff's been out campaigning for the last week or so. All the campaign signs were up and thanks to the strong spring winds, bending over most of the time! We definitely did our fair share of "sign duty" these last few days, making sure they were standing up and readable! When Jeff got home, we headed over to the village hall to vote. Very strange, yet very cool, to be voting for your spouse! After that it was just waiting for the polls to close at 8pm. At 7:30-ish we drove out and picked up all the campaign signs from all over town. Then that's it. Nothing more can be done. It's all now in the people's votes! The phone, finally, rang at 8:30. YIPPEEEEE....we got a winner!!!! I can't imagine how the big elections handle this crap. This was super stressful. It's a great feeling to know the people of our village felt Jeff has been doing a great job for the last 2 years and want it to continue! WooHoo!!!
So, today has been a great day and it got started with.........Ummm, hello....it's Wednesday!!! In my book that means Snatches! I love Wednesdays because I love to do snatches!
This week I went over to my friend's house to do our weekly session. Here's what we did.......we used different size bells, I will list mine.
Snatches:
12kg: 10L/10R x 5 rounds=100 total
14kg: 8L/8R x 5 rounds=80 total
16kg: 6L/6R x 5 rounds=60 total
then off course it was time to go back down!
16kg: 6L/6R x 5 rounds=60 total
14kg: 8L/8R x 5 rounds=80 total
12kg: 10L/10R x 5 rounds=100 total
Grand total of 480 snatches
Awesome session. We took 20 seconds rest in between each round and the for the last 5 rounds with the 12kg I took NO rest, just belted out the 100 snatches at one time-took just under 4 minutes! Ha, when I re-certify my RKC I could because I'm an old fart now use the 12kg instead of the 16kg for my snatch test because I'm now 50. That would be an insult to myself to use the 12kg-we know I'm not one to take the easy road! LOL
Wasn't real sure how I'd do today after belting out 300 swings with the 24kg yesterday, but nothing keeps me from my weekly snatch session! Back to work for a few days and then bring on the weekend! Weather looks great-hoping for some good runs!

Congrats to hubby!
